Whole Health Healing and the Power of Hormonal Balance with Dr. Sharon Stills
Ever heard of terrain-based medicine? Or how the nervous system, fascia, and lymphatic flow connect to your hormone health? Spoiler: these might just be the missing pieces in your health journey.
Here’s a taste of what we cover:
- Why balancing your hormones might need to start before hormone therapy.
- The secrets of bioregulatory medicine—what is it, and why does it take a whole-body approach?
- Scar therapy, fascia, dental health…how do these all impact how you feel every day?
And there’s more. From hormone replacement therapy to the importance of personalized treatment, Dr. Stills breaks it all down.
What Is Bioregulatory Medicine?
Most of us know about allopathic medicine – where we go to the doctor and are given a pill and we even know about functional medicine – where we go a level deeper to look for the root cause of something. But Bioregulatory Medicine encompasses that and so much more. Bioregulatory Medicine (or European Biological Medicine) is a type of holistic medicine that is practiced overseas in Germany, Switzerland, Austria, etc. It looks at the body as a complete organism and looks at you as an individual through a constitutional lens; what works for one person may not work for the next person based on the way our bodies experience and tolerate the world. How is the nervous system affecting the regulation of your organs?
When we look at regulations, we have to look at you as an entire body. What restrictions do you have in your body? What is going on in your mouth? What type of blockages do you have? (About 70% of blockages begin in the mouth and every single tooth is related to an acupuncture meridian!) Where do you have scars? What are your emotions? The goal is to clear ALL of the blocks that these things create in the way your body is able to regenerate and heal itself as an extracellular matrix – the area where your mitochondria exist and get their messages from.
How Do Scars Create Blocks?
Scar therapy comes from neural therapy which is another German technique. If you have a scar, blocks can show up as issues like lymphatic flow restrictions and/or stuck emotions. The scars are blocking the free flow of information inside your body. To fix these blockages Dr. Stills will inject patients with procaine and homeopathic remedies to treat things like inflammation, improve circulation, and get things moving. Injecting a scar on one part of your body can oftentimes create relief in another part of your body.
Does Oral Health Impact Overall Health?
Absolutely. Every single tooth is connected to something inside the body – so if something is going on with a tooth, it can affect whatever organ or system is connected to that tooth. In addition, root canals and cavitations (infections in your jaw bone) often cause low grade infections and end up turning into a long slow war against your immune system. These can cause anything from autoimmune disease to chronic infections and disease to cancer.
Dr. Sharon Stills goes super deep into so many more ways our body’s entire system is connected and how we can experience a whole health healing. There is SO much more in this episode!
