Parasites are really common. There is a misconception that parasites are from third world countries and that you must travel to a tropical place to get one — but the truth is that parasites don’t know “borders”. There are no borders. Everything that humans have are carried from continent to continent (we saw this happen with the pandemic).
Today we are talking about Type 2 Diabetes (and Type 2 specifically). If it’s not affecting YOU, it’s affecting your friends and/or family or someone you know. It’s a super common issue in midlife. The good news is, this type of diabetes can usually be reversed! I was introduced to dr. Beverly Yates from a mutual friend because I was having my own blood sugar challenges (this is a story for another time!) and the first thing that came to mind was — do I have type 2 diabetes? So we dove deep and I LOVED her so much that I knew I HAD to share her knowledge with you!
When we were 20 we really didn’t consider what happens later in life in this time and place we now call menopause…simply because nobody talked about it! I remember thinking that nothing would change during perimenopause and menopause as long as you “stuck to your plan”. Jokes on me! I totally believed that until I started working through it myself. And let me tell you…you don’t really know what it’s like until you’re walkin’ through it. BUT, the more we talk about it, the easier it becomes for all. Menopause has absolutely nothing to do with how “fit” and “healthy” you are. It’s biology and it’s what happens.
Sometimes when you experience the symptoms that come along with menopause, like loss in confidence, memory loss, brain fog, sweating/hot flashes, heart palpitations, etc., it can be and feel really scary. You almost wonder — what is really going on?! Is it dementia? Is it a heart attack? What is happening?! Especially if you are not well versed in what the “common” symptoms you might encounter in menopause could be! KNOWING what you’re going through can only make it that much easier for you. It’s the NOT knowing of things that makes it so much more difficult.

Naturopathic doctors are trained in conventional medicine and are required to meet all of the same pre-med requirements.
